Savings bonds are considered a liquid asset to the extent of their current value. Bonds held in co-ownership with another person are deemed available to the applicant or recipient when the applicant or recipient is the actual purchaser or has the authority to cause the bond to be cashed. Bonds purchased with money that was counted as income in the month the income was received are not a countable resource until the month following the month of receipt of the income.
