Playground areas for all child care settings shall be safe, in good repair and shall be kept free of debris, trash, and weeds. Playground equipment shall be installed according to manufacturer's instructions and maintained in good repair. The use of playgrounds and parks may be used for outdoor play.
For a center program, a fence that measures at least four feet high is required around the outdoor play space.
For a family day care or school-age program, a fence may be required if a body of water, vehicular traffic, or other hazard poses the risk of injury or death to a child.
