Section 67:14:32:17 - Filing of petition

The applicant shall provide notice to the department when filing a petition to adopt a child placed with them by the department. When the department has given legal approval to an applicant to begin legal proceedings for the completion of adoption, the department shall send legal information about the child to the applicant's attorney.
