All piping systems for potable water shall be installed to eliminate any dead-end runs of piping. Before placing potable water systems in service, the piping system shall be disinfected in accordance with the South Dakota Plumbing Commission standards in article 20:54 and certification shall be available from the installer showing the method used, date, test procedure used to verify chlorine concentrations, and date the system was flushed and placed in service.
Pipe covering, vapor barriers, and adhesives used for applying them shall have a flame spread of not more than 25 and a smoke emission factor of not more than 50 when tested in accordance with the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, 2012 edition.
