Section 44:02:07:62 - Laundering of linens

Laundry facilities in a food establishment are restricted to the washing and drying of linens, cloths, uniforms, and aprons necessary to the operation. Laundry equipment must consist of a mechanical clothes washer and dryer installed as required by subdivision 44:02:07:53(1). Separate laundry facilities located on the premises for the purpose of general laundering, such as the linens for institutions providing boarding and lodging, may also be used for laundering food establishment items. If on-premises laundering is limited to wiping cloths intended to be used moist, a mechanical clothes washer must be provided and the wiping cloths stored in a sanitizing solution after laundering. Laundering facilities are not required if all linens are commercially laundered outside the establishment.
