Section 41:06:04:13 - Minimum firearm size for elk

A person may not hunt, pursue, shoot at, shoot, or kill an elk with a firearm which is smaller than .243 caliber and produces less than 1,700 foot-pounds of energy at the muzzle. Only soft point or expanding bullets are permitted.
