The required courses and experiences of a K-12 special education program shall meet the most recent edition of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) standards.
The required courses and experiences of a deaf/hearing impaired program shall meet the most recent edition of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Deaf program standards.
The required courses and experiences of a blind/visually impaired program shall meet the most recent edition of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Visually Impaired program standards.
The programs shall require candidates to demonstrate the content, pedagogical, and professional knowledge and skills identified in the CEC standards and to demonstrate competency on the multiple assessment measures of chapters 24:53:04, 24:53:05, and 24:53:06.
