Section 24:28:20:09 - Endorsements requiring pedagogy test, and content test, content major, or coursework

For an individual who has completed an elementary preparation program, each of the endorsements listed in this section requires completion of one of the following: passage of the state-designated content test, major in content, or completion of state-designated coursework. The endorsements are:

(1) Kindergarten through grade 12 vocal music education;

(2) Kindergarten through grade 12 instrumental music education;

(3) Secondary advanced composition and grammar;

(4) Secondary advanced literature;

(5) Secondary speech and debate;

(6) Secondary reading;

(7) Secondary Latin;

(8) Secondary French;

(9) Secondary German;

(10) Secondary Spanish;

(11) Secondary Chinese;

(12) Secondary gifted education;

(13) Secondary computer science education;

(14) Secondary school library education; and

(15) Secondary English as a new language.

Effective July 1, 2019, passage of the state-designated pedagogy test is also required.
