Section 24:28:09:47 - Student teacher permit regionally accredited institute of higher learning requirements

The regionally accredited institution of higher education offering the educator preparation program attended by the student teacher shall:

(1) Ensure the student teacher candidate has the documented performance and progress to qualify for the student teaching experience under the direct supervision of an assigned cooperating teacher; and

(2) Provide permission and sign off on the student teacher's assignment, with acknowledgement that the student teacher candidate has successfully completed the coursework expected of the student teacher candidate to qualify for the student teaching experience at the time of application.
