For the purposes of this chapter, a "qualified insurance carrier" is an insurance carrier which maintains an A.M. Best financial size category of class VI or higher and is and will remain, for the policy term, authorized by the South Dakota Division of Insurance to do business in this state as an errors and omissions insurance carrier of the type contemplated by this chapter.
