The purpose of this Part is to establish a uniform policy regarding lead poisoning coverage in pre-1978 residential rental property liability insurance and to set forth requirements to assure the availability of insurance coverage for losses and damages caused by lead poisoning.B. This Part applies to liability coverage written by licensed carriers on all pre-1978 residential rental properties. This Part does not apply to excess or umbrella coverage or coverage written, pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws Chapter 27-3 and Part 11 of this Subchapter by approved surplus lines insurers.230 R.I.
