Section 214-RICR-20-00-1.13 - Examination of Child by Physician/Nurse PractitionerA. A child who is suspected of being physically or sexually abused must be examined by a licensed physician or nurse practitioner.B. A child who is suspected of being neglected must be examined by a licensed physician or nurse practitioner when there is evidence that the suspected neglect has had a detrimental effect on the child's physical well-being.C. The Department must secure a medical examination for any child removed pursuant to a forty-eight (48) hour hold with or without the consent of the parent or legal guardian.214 R.I.
