A. Title XIX of the U.S. Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 1396-1396w-7, provides the legal authority for the Rhode Island Medicaid program. The RIte Care program operates under a waiver granted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) pursuant to §1115 of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1315. The RIte Care Managed Care Consumer Advisory Committee was established by Executive Order in February 1994. The Committee is available to RIte Care consumers to address suggestions, complaints, or related issues.
