Section 50.91 - High rise building(a) A high rise building is a building that has an exterior face which exceeds 75 feet when measured from ground level to five feet above the highest occupiable floor level.(b) High rise buildings shall be totally protected with an automatic sprinkler system.(c) Travel distance may be increased to the following in buildings totally protected by an automatic sprinkler system installed in accordance with NFPA-13, 1983 Edition: (1) Two hundred feet from any point to an exit.(2) Three hundred feet between exits.(3) One hundred feet from dead ends and areas with a single path of egress.(d) Interior finish requirements may be reduced by one class in buildings totally protected by an automatic sprinkler system.(e) A dry standpipe system shall be required for high rise buildings. The dry standpipe system shall comply with the regulations for Class I service as listed in NFPA-14, 1980 Edition.
