Section 29.146 - Couplings and clutches(a) The shifting part of jaw clutches and the shifting or mechanism part of the friction clutch coupling should be attached to the driven shaft, namely, the shaft that is idle when clutch is disengaged.(b) Clutch shifters of the same type in each shop should move in the same direction to stop machines, namely, either all right or all left. This does not apply to friction clutches on the counter shaft carrying two clutch pulleys with open and crossed belts, respectively. In this case the shifter handle has three positions and the machine is at a standstill when the clutch handle is in the neutral or center position. This section cited in 34 Pa. Code § 29.141 (relating to purpose).
