Section 277.242 - Soil erosion and sedimentation control(a) The operator shall manage surface water and control erosion and sedimentation, based on the 24-hour precipitation event in inches to be expected once in 25 years.(b) The operator shall: (1) Prevent or minimize surface water percolation into the waste deposited at the facility.(2) Meet the requirements of Chapters 102 and 105 (relating to erosion and sediment control; and dam safety and waterway management).(3) Prevent soil erosion and sedimentation to the maximum extent possible.(c) When rills or gullies deeper than 9 inches form in areas that have been regraded and planted, the rills and gullies shall be filled, graded or otherwise stabilized and the area reseeded or replanted according to §§ 277.234 and 277.235 (relating to revegetation; and standards for successful revegetation). The Department will require that rills or gullies of lesser size be stabilized and the area reseeded or replanted if the rills or gullies are disruptive to the approved postclosure land use or may result in additional erosion and sedimentation.
