Section 240.111 - Requirements for radon mitigation certification(a) A person may not mitigate radon contamination in a building or represent or advertise that he may so mitigate in a building in this Commonwealth unless the person has first applied for and obtained certification from the Department to mitigate or is a firm employee of a certified mitigation firm.(b) For a firm to perform radon mitigation it shall employ at least one individual certified to mitigate who is in responsible charge of the firm's mitigation activities, and the firm shall submit an application for certification and receive certification from the Department prior to performing mitigation of radon contamination.The provisions of this §240.111 amended October 26, 2018, effective 1/24/2019, 48 Pa.B. 6791.The provisions of this §240.111 amended under sections 12 and 13 of the Radon Certification Act (63 P.S. §§ 2012 and 2013); section 302 of the Radiation Protection Act (35 P.S. § 7110.302); and section 1920-A of the Administrative Code (71 P.S. § 510.20).
