Section 225.91 - Radiation survey meter requirements(a) A registrant or licensee shall maintain sufficient calibrated and operable radiation survey instruments to make physical radiation surveys as required by this chapter and Chapter 219 (relating to standards for the protection against radiation).(b) A radiographic operation may not be conducted unless calibrated and operable radiation survey instrumentation is available and used at each site where radiographic operations are conducted.(c) Immediately prior to first use at a site where radiographic operations are conducted and at the beginning of work shift changes thereafter, a radiation survey instrument shall be checked to ensure that it is operating properly by exposing the instrument to a reference source of radiation and observing its response.
