Section 15.42 - System of division of statute(a)General. Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c), the normal divisions of a statute are chapters, subchapters, sections, subsections, paragraphs, subparagraphs, clauses and subclauses.(b)Amendatory statutes. In cases of amendments to statutes, the system of division of the statute being amended shall be followed. Many existing statutes are divided into articles, subdivisions, sections, subsections and clauses.(c)Uniform laws. The system of division for enacting a uniform law may be varied to conform to the system used for the particular uniform law being enacted to assist in comparing the statute with similar laws and court decisions in other states and thereby achieve uniformity of interpretation.
