The state public health laboratory will maintain demographic data records on infants to be used for the purposes of monitoring statistical trends and screening practices in hospitals, birthing facilities, and individual practices. This monitoring will enable the state public health laboratory to:
(1) Identify facilities and health care providers that submit inadequate specimens; (2) Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the screening program; (3) Monitor and ensure timely and complete follow-up; and (4) Ensure that the most effective newborn screening program for the State of Oregon will be maintained.Or.
