Section 165-010-1108 - Filing Deadlines for Filling Vacancies in Deschutes County Rural Fire Districts

(1) The purpose of this rule is to adopt the deadline to accept nominating petitions or declarations of candidacy when a vacancy occurs in the offices listed below, after the deadline for notice in ORS 255.069 but on or before the 62nd day before the May 21, 2019 Regular District Elections:

(a) Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District #2, Position #2; and

(b) Sisters Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District, Position #1.

(2) The last day to file a nominating petition or declaration of candidacy is no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 21, 2019.

(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of this temporary administrative rule, the last day to file information to be included in a candidate statement in the Voters' Pamphlet is 5:00 p.m. on March 25, 2019.

(4) Notice of the vacancies and nominating procedures shall be given to the district electors by at least a single publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the district.
