Section 612:10-7-196 - Interpreter services

Interpreter services. Interpreter services are sign language or oral interpretation services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and tactile interpretation services for individuals who are deaf-blind. Specially trained individuals perform sign language or oral interpretation. Interpreter services also include real-time captioning services for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing as found in 34 CFR 361.5(c) (10) and 361.48(b) (10).

(1) Does not include spoken language interpretation.
(2) Interpreter services do not require client participation in cost of services.
(3) The interpreter will submit a claim at the end of each specified time period.
