Section 612:10-7-189 - Competitive integrated employment for Employment and Retention

Competitive integrated employment for individuals receiving Employment and Retention services is defined as employment performed on a full-time or part-time basis in an integrated setting, consistent with the strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice of the individual. The individual is compensated at or above minimum wage, but not less than the customary or usual wage paid by the employer for the same or similar work performed by individuals who are not disabled. (See 34 CFR 361.5(c)(9)).

Wages must be paid by the employer instead of the contractor, unless the contractor is the employer of record, and the wage meets the ONET median hourly wage, www.onetonline.org for the type of job and location of the job.
