Section 310:667-19-7 - Indices(a) Records shall be indexed according to disease, operation, and physician or licensed independent practitioner and kept up-to-date. For indexing, any recognized system may be used. The factors explaining the standard are as follows: (1) As additional indices become appropriate due to advances in medicine, their use shall be adopted.(2) The index list for a specific disease or operation, according to a recognized nomenclature, shall include all essential data on each patient having that particular condition. "Essential data" shall include at least the medical record number of the patient so that the record may be located. All conditions for which the patient is treated during the hospitalization shall be so indexed.(3) Diagnoses and operations shall be expressed in terminology which describes the morbid condition as to site and etiological factors or the method of procedure.(b) Indexing shall be current within sixty (60) days following discharge of the patient.Okla.
