Section 1:2022-32

EXECUTIVE ORDER 2022-32

I, J. Kevin Stitt, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, pursuant to the authority vested in me by 25 O.S. § 90.10, in recognition of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, to honor the thousands of American sailors, soldiers, and civilians who died and also those wounded on December 7, 1941, as a result of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack destroyed more than 300 airplanes and nearly 20 ships, including USS Oklahoma which was pierced with torpedoes with 400 sailors aboard. On this poignant 81st anniversary of that fateful day, Oklahomans remember anew the terrible loss of life, the resultant courage of America's brave crewmen and soldiers, and the resiliency of the American spirit.

This Executive Order shall be forwarded to the Division of Capital Assets Management who shall cause the provisions of this Order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of state government.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Oklahoma to be affixed at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, this 6th day of December, 2022.

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA

J. Kevin Stitt
