EXECUTIVE ORDER 2022-19

I, J. Kevin Stitt, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, by virtue of the Oklahoma Constitution and the laws of the State of Oklahoma, hereby deny clemency to James Allen Coddington.

On August 3, 2022, the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board, by a vote of 3-2, recommended that the Governor grant clemency to James Coddington. I have thoroughly reviewed the arguments and evidence presented in this case and have determined that the clemency should be denied. The sentence of death shall be carried out as scheduled on August 25, 2022.

This Executive Order shall be forwarded to the Director of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the Oklahoma Attorney General who shall cause the provisions of this order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of state government.
