EXECUTIVE ORDER 2021-26

I, J. Kevin Stitt, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, to honor the life and legacy of former state lawmaker Gene Howard, who died on November 14, 2021.

Gene Howard was an honorable and devoted State Representative, State Senator, and was the longest serving Pro Tempore of the Senate, when he retired. He served our country with distinction and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force following 20 years of active and reserve service. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Belva, and their three children, seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other family members. He will be remembered for his love of family, his country, and his state.

This executive order shall be forwarded to the Division of Capital Assets Management, who shall cause the provisions of this order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of state government.
