I, Mary Fallin, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, to honor Judge Donald "Don" L. Deason, who passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016.

Judge Deason received his undergraduate degree and his juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. In 1979, he began a long career with the Oklahoma County District Attorney's office. In 1999, he was appointed as a Special District Judge in Oklahoma County. In 2005, Governor Henry appointed Judge Deason as the District Court Judge for Oklahoma County, Seventh Judicial District, Office 3. Most recently, he served as the presiding judge for the state's multicounty grand jury, and the Presiding District Court Judge for Oklahoma and Canadian Counties. His leadership, service, and dedication to the State of Oklahoma will be missed.

This Executive Order shall be forwarded to the Department of Capital Assets Management who shall cause the provisions of this Order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of State government.
