Section 1:2011-55

I, Mary Fallin, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly all American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011, to honor former Langston University President Ernest L. Holloway, who died on Saturday, December 24, 2011, at the age of 81.

Dr. Holloway graduated from Langston University with a bachelor's degree in agriculture in 1952. He later served the University in a number of capacities including as President from 1979 until his retirement in 2005, becoming the University's longest serving President. While in office, Dr. Holloway oversaw numerous expansions and improvements to the University.

Dr. Holloway was inducted into the Oklahoma Educators Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1999.

This executive order shall be forwarded to the Director of Central Services who shall cause the provisions of this order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of state government.
