Section 4101:3-5-01 - Water heaters

Chapter 5 of the International Plumbing Code, 2021 edition, as incorporated by reference and modified in Section 101.1.1 of this code, is further modified as follows:

(A)Modify section 501.1 to add an exception to read as follows:

Exception: Water heaters are to comply with the "Ohio Boiler and Pressure Vessels rules," Chapters 4101:4-1 to 4101:4-10 of the Administrative Code, when any of the following limitations are exceeded:

1. Heat input of two hundred thousand BTU per hour;

2. Water temperature of two hundred ten degrees Fahrenheit;

3. Nominal water containing capacity of one hundred twenty gallons.

(B)Modify section 501.5 as follows:

Replace the term "third-party certified" with the phrase "listed by an approved agency as complying with the applicable referenced standards."
