Section 75-02-01.2-27 - Social security numbers

Before the needs of an individual may be included in the benefit, the individual shall furnish a social security number or proof that the individual has applied for a social security number. An individual may not be initially included in or added to a household, including newborn children, until the individual's social security number or proof of application has been received. An individual who has been included in or added to a household upon providing proof that the individual has applied for a social security number shall provide a social security number within six months of receipt of the number or at the time of the next redetermination of eligibility following receipt of the number, whichever is earlier.
