Section 02B .0216 - STREET NAME SIGNS(a) Street name signs are the sole responsibility of the municipality. If such signs are installed on the state highway system rights-of-way they must be in conformance with the "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" and may not be erected in such a manner as to interfere with standard highway signing.(b) Street Name Signs (State Rural Secondary System). The board of county commissioners or developers and property owners can request permission for the appropriate street name signs and, upon approval by the traffic engineering branch as to type, design, and location of said signs, they may be erected and will be maintained by those responsible for the placing of the signs.(c) The Department of Transportation may remove all street name signs that are not properly maintained or that hamper the maintenance of the streets by the Department of Transportation.
