Section 52.22 - Approval of institutions offering highly specialized courses(a) Approval of a historical association or museum. (1) Incorporation. A historical association or museum shall be incorporated under the laws of the State of New York.(2) Building. It shall own or occupy in whole or in part, a building adequate for the care, preservation and display of materials of historical and cultural value. The building shall be open to public visitation, with or without fee, at certain fixed hours.(3) Collections. An adequate collection of material of historical and cultural value shall be maintained and adequate provision shall be made for progressive additions to such collection. The collection shall be in the charge of a competent attendant.(4) Reports and records. An annual report shall be filed with the Commissioner of Education recording the education and cultural activities of the historical association or museum and presenting an accurate statement of all financial operations. An accession record of all items owned shall be maintained.(5) Educational cooperation. Appropriate cooperative relationships shall be maintained with regional educational institutions.(b) Approval of curriculums in other highly specialized institutions requiring high school graduation for admission. (1) Incorporation. The school shall be legally incorporated.(2) Admission. The requirement for admission shall be the successful completion of an approved four-year secondary school course, or the equivalent.(3) Enrollment. The institution must have sufficient enrollment.(4) Faculty. The institution shall employ an adequate staff of instructors qualified in the subjects offered and experienced in their presentation.(5) Resources. The institution shall have adequate resources. Curriculums shall not be approved unless the institution has an adequate physical plan properly maintained and suitable educational equipment and services.N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 8 § 52.22
