Section 487.4 - Defining the impact study area

(a) At a minimum, the impact study area must be the geographic area that is encompassed within a one-half mile radius around the proposed location of the facility.

(b) The radius of the impact study area shall be increased by the applicant based on site-specific factors, including the nature, scope and magnitude of the environmental impacts, the projected range of those impacts on various environmental resources, and the geography of the area surrounding the location of the proposed facility.

(c) The applicant shall define the impact study area pursuant to subdivisions (a) and (b) of this section for any reasonable and available alternate locations to the proposed facility identified by the applicant.
