Section 5901.5 - Eligible activities

The following activities are generally those for which matching funds may be provided to regional high technology development organizations:

(a) sponsor and conduct conferences and studies, collect and disseminate information, and issue periodic reports relating to scientific and technological research, development and education in the State;
(b) prepare and periodically issue a register of scientific and technological research facilities in the State;
(c) provide direct business and technical assistance to small and emerging science and technology-oriented businesses in order to strengthen and expand their operations, and facilitate their applying for Federal research grants, and State or Federal procurement contracts, including providing information on the availability of such grants and contracts;
(d) collect and disseminate information on financial, technical, marketing management and other services available to small and emerging science and technology-oriented businesses on a free or for-hire basis from universities, private for-profit businesses, and nonprofit organizations;
(e) establish a focal point for the dissemination of information regarding inventions for the benefit of inventors interested in having their ideas developed and commercialized for entrepreneurs interested in the commercialization of new products and processes; and
(f) other activities as set forth in Public Authorities Law section 3102-d and the request for proposals issued by the office as approved by the office.
