Section 56-6.2 - Number and location of background air samples(a) Phase I B background sampling--large asbestos project. Prior to asbestos abatement contractor mobilization and starting Phase II A, a minimum of five samples shall be taken inside the intended regulated abatement work area, and a minimum of five samples shall be taken outside of the intended regulated abatement work area within the building or structure in uncontaminated areas that are within 10 feet of the anticipated locations of isolation or critical barriers. If the entire building/structure is the intended regulated abatement work area, the five air samples outside the regulated abatement work area shall be eliminated, and a minimum of one background ambient air sample shall be taken outside of the building or structure, as close as possible to the area where abatement work is to be conducted.
