These requirements apply to public and private hospitals as defined in Section 8.370.12.7 of these requirements.
Facilities that are specifically exempt under Subsection D of Section 24-1-2, NMSA 1978, from being treated as hospitals for purposes of regulation under Section 24-1-5, NMSA 1978, and these requirements, are physicians' clinics and offices, nursing homes, as well as health centers and correctional institutions that are operated by the state.
