Section 16.16.4.8 - LIST OF DISAPPROVED LICENSING JURISDICTIONS; REASONSApplicants licensed in the following states and territories of the United States shall not be eligible for expedited licensure under Section 61-2-9 of the Optometry Act.
A. American Samoa, on the grounds that education and licensure examination requirements cannot be determined to be consistent with those requirements in New Mexico.B. Unless the applicant holds both an optometrist license and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents certification, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Northern Mariana Islands, Virgin Islands, and Guam, on the grounds that New Mexico includes the scope of practice for therapeutic pharmaceutical agents certification as part of its optometrist licensing requirements.N.M.
