Section 8:43G-13.21 - Regulated medical waste policies and procedures

(a) The hospital shall develop and implement and the Infection Control Program shall review, approve, and audit written policies and procedures for collection, storage, handling, transport and disposal transport of medical waste, in conformance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.

(b) The hospital shall comply with the provisions of 42 U.S.C. § 6903, the Medical Waste Tracking Act of 1988 and 13:1E-48 et seq., the Comprehensive Regulated Medical Waste Management Act and all rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to the aforementioned Acts.
