Section 8:43D-3.14 - Sounding devices(a) If self-locking doors are used at the main entrance and other entrances that open onto a roof or balcony, they shall be equipped with a sounding device, such as a bell, buzzer or chime, which is constantly maintained in operating condition.(b) The sounding device shall be affixed to the outside of the door or to the adjacent exterior wall for use by a person who is unable to enter the building, and this device shall ring at an area of the building that is staffed 24 hours a day.N.J.
