Section 13:69K-1.5 - Advisory boards(a) The Division may establish an advisory board consisting of local or State officials, representatives of area businesses and communities, women and minority organizations, union officials, persons with disabilities, casino industry representatives or other interested parties. Such advisory board may make recommendations to the Division, upon its request, concerning policies or techniques to assure equal employment and business opportunity for all persons in the casino industry and the casino-related construction industry.(b) The Division may establish an Advisory Board on Persons with Disabilities to consider issues affecting persons with disabilities and the casino industry. This advisory board shall consist of persons with disabilities residing in the regional community, representatives of organizations which advance the interests of persons with disabilities and representatives of the casino industry. The purpose of the advisory board shall be to identify, investigate, and make recommendations to the Division concerning issues which affect the ability of persons with disabilities to obtain employment and business opportunities with the casino industry. Such recommendations may include, at the discretion of the advisory board or upon request by the Division, suggestions for the promulgation of specific regulations. The advisory board may also develop and recommend to the Division a program which will permit the accurate identification and reporting of persons with disabilities who are employed by or doing business with the casino industry.
