Section 13:46-20.1 - Entertainment events(a) Until and unless specifically ordered by the State Athletic Commissioner, all professional extreme wrestling performances in New Jersey shall be considered strictly exhibition and as entertainment and no promoter shall willfully advertise his events to the contrary.(b) The Commissioner shall determine whether an event is to be deemed as an extreme wrestling event. In making such determination, the Commissioner shall apply the statutory (N.J.S.A. 5:2A-10) definition, that extreme wrestling is an activity where the wrestlers struggle hand-to-hand and cut, slash or strike each other or themselves with an implement to intentionally cause bleeding or perform any intentional act which could reasonably be expected to cause bleeding, to the following: 1. The history of the organization and promoter staging the event;2. The type of matches to be conducted;3. The objects or props to be used during the contest;4. The level of violence involved in the event;5. The probability that the contestants will suffer lacerations or be injured; and6. Any other relevant factors.(c) The promoter of the wrestling event may, within 15 days of notification of the Commissioner's action, request that the Board review the decision at the next scheduled Board meeting. If the promoter does not request review by the Board, the Commissioner's decision shall be final.N.J. Admin. Code § 13:46-20.1
