Section 13:46-12B.5 - Inability to perform contract due to injury or illness(a) Whenever a licensed boxer considers himself or herself unable by reason of injury or illness to participate in a bout for which he or she is under contract, the boxer shall immediately notify the Commissioner of this fact and, before entering the ring again, the boxer shall submit to a medical examination performed by a physician appointed by the Commissioner of the type specified by 13:46-12A.3.(b) In the event that a boxer is treated for any serious injury or disabling illness, or has been hospitalized, by his or her personal physician for any reason, the boxer or his or her manager shall immediately notify the Commissioner, who shall refer the matter to a physician appointed by the Commissioner for review. The boxer, thereafter, shall submit to such medical examination as may be ordered in the discretion of the physician appointed by the Commissioner before engaging in any boxing contest.(c) Any boxer or manager failing to immediately report any illness or injury to the Commissioner as required by (a) and (b) above shall be immediately suspended for an indefinite period.N.J.
