Section 13:18-6.5 - Proof of insurance; submission of fictitious proof(a) For purposes of section 50 of the FAIR Act (N.J.S.A. 17:33B-41), proof of motor vehicle liability insurance coverage shall consist of the original, copy, or electronic format of the following:1. A valid permanent insurance identification card issued in accordance with N.J.A.C. 11:3-6.2;2. Evidence of a valid temporary insurance document issued in accordance with N.J.A.C. 11:3-6.5;3. The declaration page of an insurance policy;4. An insurance policy binder;5. A notice of policy reinstatement issued by the insurer which notified the Commission of cancellation of motor vehicle liability insurance coverage pursuant to section 50b of the FAIR Act (N.J.S.A. 17:33B-41b);6. A certificate of self-insurance issued by the Department of Banking and Insurance pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:6-52; or7. Any other proof deemed acceptable by the Chief Administrator, including post-audit verification by confirmation from the new policy data received from the insurance company.(b) An owner may present proof of motor vehicle liability insurance coverage to the Commission by mail, electronic mail, fax, or in-person.(c) Any person who submits or causes to be submitted to the Commission any falsely made, forged, altered or counterfeited proof of motor vehicle liability insurance coverage pursuant to this subchapter may be subject, upon notice and an opportunity to be heard pursuant to the procedures in N.J.A.C. 13:19, to a suspension of his or her driving privileges for a period not to exceed two years.N.J.
