Section 13:103-6.17 - Filing fee for civil action or proceeding in Federal court(a) In accordance with 28 U.S.C. § 1915, Proceedings in forma pauperis, a juvenile may request to bring a civil action in a court of the United States, or an appeal of a judgment in a civil action or proceeding in a court of the United States, without the prepayment of fees.(b) A juvenile seeking to proceed in accordance with (a) above shall submit a request to the Superintendent or designee for a certified copy of his or her juvenile account statement for the six-month period immediately preceding the filing of the complaint or notice of appeal. The juvenile account statement shall be provided in a timely manner.(c) Upon receipt by the community program of a court order issued pursuant to (a) above regarding the payment of filing fees, the community program fiscal manager shall first deduct funds from the juvenile's account to pay any initial partial filing fee in accordance with the terms of the court order, and then the balance of any filing fee in accordance with 28 U.S.C. § 1915, applicable Commission rules and procedures, and the terms of the court order.
