Section 10A:5-3.7 - Medical and psychiatric services(a) A member of the medical staff, which can be a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, doctor, or other authorized health care personnel, shall be available in the Administrative Close Supervision Unit on a daily basis to assess medical needs. Any inmate wishing to see a doctor shall notify the medical staff member or housing custody staff member of his or her sick call request.(b) Medical and psychiatric emergencies shall be attended to immediately. Requests for medical attention for inmates in non-emergency situations shall be responded to by the physician, or medical person designated by the physician.(c) Whenever it appears that an inmate is suffering from an emotional or psychiatric disturbance, arrangements shall be made for a psychiatric or psychological evaluation.N.J.
