Section 10A:31-17.2 - Time spent in Disciplinary Detention(a) Inmates may be placed in Disciplinary Detention by the Disciplinary Board/hearing officer for a period not to exceed 15 days as a result of a single disciplinary charge.(b) Inmates found guilty of multiple disciplinary charges may receive up to 15 days Disciplinary Detention for each charge provided that the total time to be served does not exceed 30 days in a 60-day period.(c) An inmate shall not be placed in Disciplinary Detention for more than 20 consecutive days, or for more than 30 days during any 60-day period.(d) The time an inmate spends in Disciplinary Detention shall be proportionate to the offense committed, taking into consideration:1. The severity of the offense;2. The inmate's prior conduct;3. The inmate's specific program needs; and4. Other relevant factors.N.J. Admin. Code § 10A:31-17.2
