Section 10A:14-5.5 - Special clothing issue(a) Staff at each correctional facility shall provide special issue clothing to inmates assigned to specific work details such as, but not limited to, food service, hospital, farm, sanitation, and mechanical services, and outside details. The special issue clothing may include, but not be limited to, caps or hairnets and clothing related to weather conditions.(b) Inmates scheduled for court trips, death bed visits or attendance at funerals in the community shall be permitted to wear authorized civilian clothing when deemed necessary by the Administrator or designee. Such clothing shall be provided, worn and returned to the correctional facility in accordance with written internal management procedures.(c) Staff at each correctional facility shall, in accordance with written internal management procedures, require inmates to wear special clothing while working outside the facility perimeter.(d) Additional special clothing issue shall be supplied if requested by the inmate and approved by the Administrator or designee.N.J.
