If, after appropriate notice, the licensee fails to appear at a preliminary fatal accident hearing scheduled pursuant to 39:5-30, the judge shall issue an order immediately suspending or continuing the suspension of the licensee's driving privileges. Thereafter, the provisions of 1:1-14.4shall apply.
