(b) A vehicle identification number for all trailers that are 3,000 pounds or less shall be issued only after the vehicle identification number plate on the trailer has been examined by a law enforcement officer, a licensed motor vehicle dealer, or an authorized inspection station. For trailers greater than 3,000 pounds, a NH issued vehicle identification number (VIN) shall be required.(c) Upon being issued a trailer vehicle identification number, a person shall display the sticker in a permanent and prominent place on the trailer.
